Nicole Shokry is an Egyptian artist and illustrator based in Providence, RI. While attending the Rhode Island School of Design, she devotes her work in exploring the intersection of faith, memory, and material.
Rooted in Coptic iconography and traditional art forms, her work has been showcased throughout her time at RISD, most notably at the Museo Degli Innocenti in Florence, Italy. She is drawn to what exists between devotion and decay and the spaces where the divine meets the human. Through layered symbolic pattern and storytelling, she seeks to create images that hold stillness and reflection within the ever-shifting world.
